Instagram has announced that you can now post a carousel on the platform with up to 20 pictures or videos. The social media platform previously only allowed a maximum of 10 photos or videos.
This come after numerous new features also added to Instagram, including the ability to add songs to your post/carousel and posting jointly with other users.
This is a positive update for those brands who use carousels for story telling as part of their social media strategy, with more space for content per post.

YouTube Shorts have become popular since their launch in September 2020, with over 2 billion users. YouTube are now looking to capitalise on this by integrating longer-form content into the main Shorts feed.
It looks as if YouTube is using the popularity of Shorts to increase viewership across more of its content, however it does contradict the whole point of YouTube Shorts having their own feed, so it will be interesting to see how this affects the user experience on the platform.

TikTok has been partnership with various companies to enhance the in-app experience, such as TikTok shop partners and Eventbrite, enabling users to purchase event-tickets from within the app.
Now, TikTok have established a deal with Amazon to facilitate TikTok users making Amazon purchases in-app, without having to go through to the Amazon app or website.
TikTok comments on the partnership, “Users can now seamlessly discover and purchase their favourite products from Amazon directly within the TikTok app. This shopping experience is powered by Amazon through ads placed on TikTok and allows users to complete product purchases with Amazon in TikTok’s native environment.”

A new analytics dashboard is now available on Threads desktop, which offers a range of performance insights to help you understand how your content is performing on the platform.
The dashboard reports on views, interactions, follower growth and demographic, particularly useful for those trying to grow their brands presence on the platform, as you can measure your performance accurately in order to make data-driven decisions when pulling together your Threads content plans.
