Runway has launched Gen-3 Alpha

Gen-3 Alpha is the first of an upcoming series of models trained by Runway that allows you to create videos in any style you can imagine with text to video generation.

Compared to Open AI Sora’s focus on long-form videos, Runway has prioritized speed, quality and user control with its Gen-3 model.

It is rather impressive in terms of the quality of its outputs but it is also widely available, with a $12 per editor per month fee for the standard subscription but you can also use 125 one-time credits with a free account.

Meta's AI Studio enables influencers to create AI versions of themselves

Influencers will soon be able to build AI versions of themselves that can interact with users through direct messages, on Meta platforms.

The message button on the individual’s profile will be accompanied by a stars icon, signifying that you will be messaging with a bot using artificial intelligence, and not the actual individual.

The process of creating an AI version of yourself provides you with various prompts and tools to help get you started and the aim to help answer fact-based queries.

It is clear to see how it would help with those creators who get loads of enquiries daily to answer repetitive questions, however it does appear to replace the authenticity from creators that we crave.

TikTok is working on a new AI chatbot called Genie

TikTok is developing a new AI chatbot called Genie, soon to be integrated into the platform so that users can chat with it.

The aim of Genie is to help understand and answer questions from users, provide information, offer content ideas and assist with in-app tasks. So unlike Open AI’s ChatGPT, Genie is an in-app chatbot that will assist users with its own platform.

Although there is no launch date confirmed, it is expected that the chatbot will roll out in the next few months.

Instagram confirms 'sends per reach' as one of biggest ranking signals

Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram at Meta, has confirmed that one of the most important ranking factors is ‘sends per reach’, so considering how many people out of all those who viewed your content sent it to somebody else (shareability).

In the video, Mosseri explains that Instagram is meant to be a place that brings people together, not just a place for you to passively consume content, and encourages creators to think about creating content that others would want to share with friends, and that it will have a positive effect on your reach in the long-term.

However, this announcement has not come without controversy, with political and social-issue based accounts expressing how they are hindered from growing due to Instagram’s default restriction on political content, and how it leaves room for only very specific content to grow.
